Congratulations to Pacific Steel, who was awarded Best Safety Initiative to Encourage Engagement in Health and Safety at the annual Safeguard Health and Safety awards held at SKYCITY Convention Centre on 30th of May. The safety campaign created by Brent Coutts, Rolling Mill Manager was inspired by the ghost chips TV ad. Pacific Steel ran a competition that asked staff what they would say to a colleague who was about to do something unsafe. The top six phrases from 300 entries were been printed on t-shirts and given to all staff. Pacific Steel were also finalists in two other categories; best initiative to improve employee wellness and, most influential employee for health and safety.
