Pacific Steel Tour: Women in Engineering
Women in Engineering (WIE) is a group of women student engineers,who are currently studying a broad range of engineering disciplines from the University of Auckland. Although young women are under represented in Engineering, the field offers a range of exhilarating adventures for young women. Using their unique problem solving skills and creativity to solve complex problems, women bring a new dimension to the field.
It is for this reason that Pacific Steel Group invited the members of the WIE group to have a tour of the Steel Plant and Rolling Mill on the 17th of November. The tour was a tremendous success, having several engineers speak to them throughtout their tour.
