Technical Specifications
Steel provides tensile strength to concrete and masonry structures, and provides seismic performance. Our high quality steel comes straightened bar and coils in a variety of tensile strengths and ductility classes. All of our steel undergoes rigorous testing to ensure compliance with the AS/NZS Standard. Test certificates, providing details on mechanical and chemical composition, are available on request for every batch of steel that leaves our premises.

Embodied Energy Table
The creation of products requires energy. All the energy used in creating a product is termed 'embodied energy'. As Pacifc Steel recycles steel scrap that is sourced locally in New Zealand using an electric arc furnace, it uses less energy than similar produces overseas who use much larger furnaces and create their steel from iron ore.

Environmental Information
WE ARE NEW ZEALAND'S LARGEST RECYCLER! Each year we recycle 90,000 car bodies. The recycling of steel is an environmentally sensible way to create the essential steel products required by our construcition and rural industries. Steel can be recycled again, and again, without the loss of its physical properties.
