Pacific Steel, based in Auckland on New Zealand’s North Island, has been manufacturing high quality reinforcing steel rod and bar products for over 50 years, for New Zealand's domestic market, as well various export markets.

After many years under the Fletcher Building banner, Pacific Steel was acquired by BlueScope in 2015. This acquisition was led by the desire to secure steel manufacturing in New Zealand for many years to come, with steel feed for Pacific Steel now supplied by BlueScope's Glenbrook based, New Zealand Steel business.
Pacific Steel's commitment to providing a higher level of product quality and consistency factored into the decision to transition from a scrap based raw material, to virgin iron-sand feed from New Zealand Steel. With the commissioning of New Zealand Steel's state of the art billet casting technology and greater controls over the steel making process; Pacific Steel are now able to produce an even more consistent, high quality product to meet the demands of our customers.
